Recent Work:

NYTB

In 2018 I had the unique opportunity to assist in coordinating a collaboration between trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort and Pascale Gatzen, Co-founder of the worker cooperative Friends of Light. We brought together six different textile studios based in NYC to each design a blanket for New York Textile Month. The blankets were made with wool from Buckwheat Bridge Angoras, a small fiber mill in Upstate NY and handwoven.

I worked with Pascale Gatzen to develop all the yarns for the project and spent several days carding and spinning the wool with the owner of the mill upstate. Pascale and I collaborated on the design of the Friends of Light blanket and I hand-wove all the initial development.

Sonya Clark: Monumental Cloth, The Flag We Should Know (Fabric Workshop and Museum)

In 2019 I assisted the Fabric Workshop and Museum in preparing for Sonya Clark’s exhibition. I worked with the Studio Team on the initial development and construction of the giant Truce Flag that was machine woven at a mill in Pennsylvania. Myself and a team of weavers hand-wove 100 replicas of the original Confederate Flag of Truce, a dish cloth that played a crucial role in ending the civil war. On opening night, I offered hands-on weaving tutorials to visitors on a floor loom in the gallery.

Claudia Mills Rugs

Since the Fall of 2018 I have been designing and hand-weaving rugs for Claudia Mills Rugs. These are just a few of the rugs I have woven in the last two years. They are currently being featured in her online shop: www.claudiamills.com/shop
